This paper is about the research on the influence factors of slurry density detectionwith ultrasonic wave. Through the analysis of detection process on slurry densityparameter, effect of process parameters, the signal parameters and other parameters on theresults of the testing, it achieves practical application of ultrasonic attenuationmeasurement on slurry density parameters. The significance of detection is that, when thedensity is too large it is easy to stick because of differential pressure and suppressleakage;when density is too low, it is easy to collapse, well kick and blowout well,decrease the ability of water carrying cuttings.The research of this paper is based on the theory of ultrasonic attenuation. First, theultrasonic mud density detection system, and the influence parameters on the ultrasonicattenuation are analyzed in theory. Then we use the finite element analysis softwareANSYS simulation of ultrasonic sensor, signal parameters, process parameters and otherfactors influence on detection. Signal parameters including ultrasonic frequency, amplitudeand waveform. Process parameters include mud of temperature, pressure and flow rate. Weanalyzed the influence of coupling agent and pipe wall in other influencing factors. Finally,under laboratory conditions, the hardware experiment platform is established, theexperiments are carried out at different temperatures. the experimental results and analysisof simulation results validate each other.Research shows that: the speed and amplitude has no influence on the detecting result;with the increasing of temperature, pressure, frequency values of these parameters willmake the ultrasonic attenuation rate becomes larger, affecting the accuracy of detection;when it is loaded sine wave, the decay rate is smaller than loaded square wave; increasingof the ultrasonic transducer in piezoelectric thickness will make the attenuation rate larger;The different decay rates when it uses different coupling agents; When the tube wall isthicker the attenuation rate is smaller, can not be ignored. In order to achieve the precisionmeasuring on slurry density parameters by using ultrasonic purpose, it need to consider thetemperature, pressure, frequency, ultrasonic transducer, waveform, tube wall and coupling agent. these influence factors, amplitude of the ultrasonic wave, waveform and speed maybe omitted. It provides a theoretical basis for the further application of the results of thisresearch for the ultrasonic attenuation in the determination of slurry density.
