PVC has been applied widely because of its advantages of excellent clarity, low cost, relatively versatile. The versatility of PVC is its capability to incorporate additives to suit many different applications. However, a serious limitation for the application of PVC is its notch sensitivity. A number of researches and development works have therefore been carried out to formulate polymers with high impact resistance over the last few decades.Traditional core-shell structure modifiers is improved by using emulsion polymerization method. In the P(Bd-co-BA) outer graft MMA, preparation different size core-shell modifier (N-AIM), and melt blending with polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC). Preparation of PVC/N-AIM blend, the mechanical properties and morphology of PVC/N-AIM blends were studied.The results show that when the ratio of BA/Bd/St for70/25/5, with the increase of N-AIM rubber content of the graft copolymer, first, the impact strength of the blends exhibited a tendency to increase. Rubber content was5.71, the impact strength of blend reached a maximum (1280J/m), and the brittle ductile transition happened at that time, and toughening effect is superior to KM355;In this case the yield strength of PVC/N-AIM blend up to57.75MPa. And processing conditions affect PVC/N-AIM blend, optimal temperature of the blend was170℃, optimum mixing time was8min. Rubber particles dispersed in PVC matrix was good, the blends of the fracture mode was ductile fracture.Under the above experimental conditions, and then synthesized a series N-AIM modifier particles having a core-shell structure of the type and size of the refractive index, for toughened PMMA resin. The experimental investigate the effect of particle size of the latex of PMMA/N-AIM blend mechanical and optical properties. Experimental results show that:with the increasing size of the latex, impact strength of the blend was increased first then decreased, when rubber particle size was300nm reaches a maximum about80.22J/m. The refractive index can be seen from the graph,with the particle size of N-AIM increases, the transmittance of the blend was first increase and then decrease, and when the diameter of N-AIM was300nm, translucent reached maximum.
