Because of its advantage such as non-pollution, non-energy intensity and low-temperature, photocatalysis will be widely used in energy conversion and environmental protection. Titanium dioxide is intoxic, cheap, high photocatalytic efficient and chemical stabile, so it has became an widely used photocatalyst. However, the large band-gap energy3.2eV of TiO2considerably limits the utilization of natural solar light. So TiO2must be modified with an appropriate method if photocatalytic technology was applied to practice.Commercial organic pigment-TiO2photocatalyst was conveniently synthesized by solvothermal method, with commercial organic pigments as sensitizer, and GE-TiO2was prepared by solvothermal method with butyl titanate and graphite oxide obtained with modified Hummer oxidation method, which has strong response for visible light. Then the photocatalysts are characterized by Scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction, Uv-vis diffuse reflection spectrum, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and BET. At last the activity of the obtained catalyst was studied by degradation of RhB under different reaction conditions. The results show that the visible light photocatalytic performance of the samples can be improved by add pigment, and GE-TiO2has the highlest photocatalytic activity when GO doped amount is10%, synthetic temperature is180℃, calcined at300℃for1h, the dosage of the catalyst is0.05g, the concentration of RhB is10mg·L-1(60mL), pH=7, and the efficiency is still high after repeated use few times.
