Rolling bearings have a wide range of applications in the aerospace, railtransportation and other harsh conditions as an important component part of traditionalsystem. A bearing failure in advance will result in the transmission part or even theentire system to a serious failure. And on the other hand, the recurrent disassemblyprocess will greatly increase the maintenance costs. In the paper, researches made amodified calculation method of bearing life under the complex conditions and highreliability.The ISO method can only compute the fatigue life of rolling bearings under axialforce and radial force, for the commonly used internal geometric and general reliabilitybearings. The method corrected for materials and working conditions by usingcorrection factor based on experience. The accuracy of this method is not enough andnot impossible to consider the impact of moment, assembly and temperature.Firstly, a variety of basic rating life calculation method has been analyzed andcompared to determine the Harris improved L-P method as a basis for calculate theimpact of load distribution and rolling element. And the bearing life can be firstlymodified by the improved method.Secondly, the effect of interference fit, initial clearance, bending moment,temperature and residual stress on maximum subsurface shear has been studied frominternal load distribution and hoop stress. And the article established the accuratemethod for working conditions based on internal load distribution to secondly modifythe bearing life.At last, based on the first modified method and the second modified method, thefinal modified life method of rolling bearings under composite conditions and highreliability has been established by using ISO281-2007which depends on the I-H theoryand modify life by considering lubrication, pollution, high reliability and the long lifephenomena of bearings. The modified life calculation software has been developedbased on the last modified life calculation method for rolling bearings.
