| Shandong Peninsula is abundant in the harbour resources, with numerous smallharbour towns in the east costal area. Today, accompanying with the accelerateddevelopment of urbanization, more and more attention is paid to the construction ofsmall towns. Thanks to the advantages of abundant resources, the small harbourtowns have been in the forefront of the construction and development of small citiesand towns. On the subject of urban and rural planning, there are few relevant theories onthe layout planning of small harbour towns. However, the fast development andconstruction of small harbour towns without the guidance of relevant theories resultsin the unclear spatial structure and loose and disorderly patterns in many small citiesand towns. Besides, the arbitrary construction of cities and towns and serious wasteof land resources always happen, due to the population growth and expansion ofconstruction land. In such case, we conducted an analysis and research on the spatiallayout planning of the small harbour towns in this paper, hoping it will become agood reference and basis for decision-making for the current construction of smallharbour towns. In this paper, the small harbour towns in the Shandong Peninsula are dividedinto three types, and we select three typical case into further studies in order toprovides good reference for other towns. First, we carried out an analysis on thegeneral situation of the small harbour towns in the Shandong Peninsula in this paper.By analyzing the current spatial layout from the aspects of master layout, publicfacilities, living space, road systems and green landscape systems, etc., we found outthe existed problems and reasons. Then we searched for the relevant theoretical basisaccordingly and analyzed the actual cases for reference, which would be a goodpreparation for the study of spatial layout of the small harbour towns hereinafter.Next, we studied the influential elements on the spatial layout of the cities and towns, the specific influence of harbours thereto and their interactions. Also, according tothe spatial relationship between harbours and towns, we divided the small harbourtowns in Shandong Peninsula into three different types, that is, small towns withharbours inside, small towns adjacent to harbours, and small towns far from harbours.Upon the study on the typical cases, we concluded the spatial layout features ofdifferent types of small harbour towns. Lastly, we analyzed from macroscopic viewthe regional environment of the development of small harbour towns in ShandongPeninsula, planning principles, guidance and other macroscopic planning strategies, and then practised those strategies on the specific spatial layout planning. Further, we put forward basic countermeasures for appropriately compact spatialdevelopment from microscopic view and later put the theories into practice. Takingthe three towns Jimiya, Shidao and Dongjiakou for examples and combining theactual situations and existed problems, we analyzed the spatial structure and landlayout planning, and proposed countermeasures for the spatial layout of the threedifferent types of small harbour towns (small towns with harbours inside, smalltowns adjacent to harbours, and small towns far from harbours) in ShandongPeninsula, which provides good reference for the healthy and sustainabledevelopment of small harbour towns in the future. |
