With the continuous application and development of new materials and new technology in civil engineering industry, safety and stability of this system needs further study. Processing and analyzing the collected data by using data processing system, it can emit warning when there is special information. Measures can be taken according to the results of data processing and analyzing, thus,it will guide bridge maintenance, repairment and provide the corresponding management decisions. Bridge structural health monitoring system which monitors the operation conditions and structural healthconditions when the bridge is on service is a complete real-time on-line monitoring system. Only on the basis of monitoring to obtain accurate data, analyzing and establishing a sound function and various types of structural health, safety monitoring system,the normal work of bridge structure can be guaranteed.So,with the elaboration of the composition of modern bridge health monitoringsystem,this essay mainly introduces the working methods of the sensor subsystem,data acquisition subsystem, data processing and control subsystem, security earlywarning and assessment subsystem;and also elaborates the cooperation relationshipbetween various systems.To the arrangement of the sensor subsystem in this system, it introduces theprinciple of optimal sensor placement and the main contents of bridge structure healthmonitoring in different construction stages. Optical fiber sensor is a currently moreadvanced sensor. According to various grating element characteristics andfunctions,optical fiber sensor establishes the corresponding health monitoringsystem.Taking Wuhu Yangtze River bridge health monitoring system as an example,this essay introduces the application of health monitoring system in practical useaccording to the characteristics and structures of Wuhu Yangtze River bridge. Finallythe paper summarizes the main conclusions of the study, pointing out the deficienciesand the study direction at this stage of the bridge health monitoring system.In this essay, through comparing the advantages and disadvantages of thedifferent health monitoring system as well as of optimal sensor placement, theintroduction of different construction stage supervision, I got the conclusion thatapplication in bridge monitoring of bridge monitoring system is a complex,multidisciplinary cross system. The layout principle is restricted by external environment. But in our country, there is not much perfect monitoring system designmethod, the technical indicators are at a low level. This work can provide reliablescientific theory model to related large bridge project, mathematical calculationassumption and find out the deficiencies of bridge structure through data feedback.Thus, it can provide information for the safety and reliable operation of the bridge.
