Hybrid container loader is an indispensable ground equipment used in the air cargotransport field, which effectively improves the traditional container loader of high fuelconsumption and emissions issues. Because of the difference in weight of the container,the SOC of the battery and the change of temperature, the load, battery initial SOC andbattery initial temperature is uncertain in the actual work process, so the control strategyneeds to meet the requirements of the loader to run under different conditions, the maincontents are as follows:①The actual work characteristics of the hybrid container loader is analyzed, acomplete working cycle of the hybrid container loader is selected; The engine numericalmodel, the motor/generator efficiency model, the battery charge and discharge modeland the battery temperature rise model are established.②B ased on theuniversal characteristics of engine, the motor efficiencycharacteristics and the characteristics of the operating conditions, the control logic andcontrol strategy is formulated. And by orthogonal design method, sets the minimum fuelconsumption at the end of the working cycle as the goal, to optimize the controlparameters of the hybrid container loader. The control parameters are charging torquelimit, engine charging torque, discharging limit, engine discharging torque and the highSOC threshold.③The fuel economy simulation model of the hybrid container loader is built usingMatlab/simulink, the simulation results under different conditions show that:When the hybrid container loader works in the cases of different loads or differentinitial temperature, for the different battery initial SOC, the end SOC of the battery is inthe reasonable limits, and when the battery initial SOC is in the range which set in thecontrol stratagem, the end SOC of the battery keeps balance.The engine and motor mostly work in the high efficiency zone, and the chargingand discharging current are meet the design requirements.When the hybrid container loader works in the cases of different loads or differentbattery initial SOC, the fuel consumption of the hybrid container loader which withenergy recovery system is low relative to the loader which without energy recoverysystem, the saving rate is more than8%, and the saving rate of fuel consumption for thehybrid container loader is above21%compared to the conventional loader. The changes of the battery temperature rise is analyzed when the hybrid containerloader works in different conditions, and the results show that: when the hybridcontainer loader works in the cases of different loads, different battery initialtemperature or different battery initial SOC, the end temperature of the battery is in thereasonable limits, which are not exceeded45.1℃.And when the battery initial SOC ishigh or low, the battery end temperature in high.
