It is a common phenomenon that photovoltaic system is partially shaded, the hot spot effect caused by partially shading brings great harm to photovoltaic system. A multi-peak power-voltage curve characteristics of photovoltaic system can be caused by partially shading, and photovoltaic system can be trapped in the local peaks by traditional maximum power point tracking methods. It reduces the output power of photovoltaic system greatly, therefore it is necessary to research an effective method to solve the maximum power point tracking problem of photovoltaic system on shaded conditon.On the basis of reading a lot of paper at home and abroad, mutation particle swarm optimization algorithom for multi-peak problem of photovoltaic system on partially shading conditon is put forward and applied in the maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic system. This algorithm draws on the global optimization characteristic of collaboration between particles in particle swarm optimization algorithm, and solve the defect which is particle swarm optimization convergences faster on the problem of maximum power point tracking and pohotovoltaic system may be trapped in the local peak by introducing the purpose of mutation. Mutation particle swarm optimization algorithom is verified that it can effectively track the maximum power point of photovoltaic system through matalb simulation and experimental analysis.In order to start the maximum power point tracking experiment effectively and scientifically, this paper uses the buck converter to design a photovoltaic emulator for simulating multi-peak characteristic of photovoltaic system on shaded conditons. This photovoltaic emulator stores three kinds of photovoltaic curve on the shadow mode, and the photovoltaic emulator is verified that its performance meets the requirement of maximum power point tracking experiment. Finally, the maximum power point tracking experiment is finished on the photovoltaic emulator.
