The performance of modern vehicle suspension system is essential for the safety andcomfort of the vehicle. Suspension technology has also been in-depth research and rapiddevelopment with the vehicle development process. For engineering vehicles whichalways worked in a diverse environment and complex conditions, the existing suspensionsystem is difficult to fulfill its running and operating requirements. Therefore, it is greatsignificance to development and researches a suspension system that suitable forengineering vehicles and can fulfill the performance requirements.This paper analyzes the requirements of a wheeled welding engineering vehiclesuspension system, summed up the special requirements of the engineering vehiclesuspension system. And on this basis, the paper proposed compensation type singletrailing arm hydraulic active Suspension system solutions. Building the parametricgeometry model of the structure of compensation type single trailing arm hydraulic activesuspension, and using specific parameters to analyzes the suspension motion and force,and to change the parameters to analyzes the impact of the suspension motion and force.The calculation method and analysis result provide a theoretical foundation for theengineering designing, and have a guiding significance. The paper also have described thecontrol method of the compensation type single trailing arm hydraulic active suspensionsystem, then have the simulation of the control system. Building the suspension controlmodel with the position control method, and discussed in detail of the correct selection ofthe parameters of the simulation, the simulation results show that the compensation typesingle trailing arm hydraulic active suspension system based on the position controlmethod can fulfill the requirements of the performance by engineering vehicle suspensionsystem.This article shows the designing of the Test bench of the compensation type singletrailing arm hydraulic active suspension system, and has an experimental research for theactive suspension system. Experimental results show that the compensation type singletrailing arm hydraulic active suspension system can meet the engineering vehicle requirements that the Chassis need a large travel lifting action with limited installationspace, and position control suspension system can meet the damping function partly whenthe vehicle is running; the performance of hydraulic active suspension system is mainlydetermined by the performance of control valves.
