Along with the increase in low voltage lighting applications, high brightness,long life, free maintenance of the fourth generation electric light gas discharge lampgot extensive attention in the field of low voltage lighting. This article chooses to havelow voltage start, big power, low working frequency characteristics of doublemagnetic rings coupled electrodeless lamps as the research object, and the design ofthe electronic ballast has carried on the thorough research.Firstly, the concept of basic booster unit is proposed in this dissertation. A novelregulated-inductor and switched-capacitor lossless snubber soft-switching high step-upconverter is derived from adopting the proposed basic booster unit and losslesssnubber circuits. The proposed high step-up converter can realize ZCS turn-on andturn-off performance of the switch and snubber diode, suppress the switch turn-offvoltage spikes and alleviate the output diode reverse-recovery problem.Then, Magnetics-integration technique is applied in the proposed high gainconverter to integrate the regulated-inductor and coupled inductors, reduce themagnetic size and improve the transient response. With dc input voltage and a built-inLC low pass output filter, eliminating electrolytic capacitor to prolong the lifetime ofthe electronic ballast.Last, modeling of double magnetic rings coupled electrodeless lamps isinvestigated this thesis, and proposed a design method for the resonant inverter issuitable for engineering application. Analyzed influence factor of the equivalentresistance and impedance angle in the process of starting and the electrodeless lampstable working condition. In this case, the converter operates with ZVS turn-on fromresonance parameters optimization.To verify the performance of the proposed electronic ballast, a200W prototypesample is implemented. A lot of simulated and experimental results are given.
