Ultrasonic motor is considered as a relatively new motor which has theadvantages that electromagnetic motor didn’t have. Ultrasonic motor has been usedin many industrial fields. Technology-driven directly impacts on the ultrasonic motorcontrol characteristics. So the study of the ultrasonic motor drive technology is veryimportant.This article firstly introduced the history of the ultrasonic motor’sdevelopment.It pointed out that the drive system is composed mainly by the signalgeneration circuit, inverter circuit and impedance matching circuit The article alsosummarized the research status of the ultrasonic motor driving technology andpointed out the content and direction of this study.Secondly, according to the analysis of the piezoelectric vibrator’s structure andthe stator vibration mechanism, the article completely described the operationmechanism of the ultrasonic motor and find that the inductor-capacitor matchingmethod is the better by simulation.Thirdly, due to the analysis of the simulation about the four inverter circuittopologies, article summed up that the half-bridge inverter circuit without thetransformer was a relativly optimization method. Though the comparison andanalysis of the simulation on the three main matching circuits, it obtained that theinductor-capacitor matching was the best method.Fourthly, the article used Verilog language program to generate symmetricalswitching pulse drive signal waveform which can be used to drive a full-bridgeinverter.It showed the theoretical basis that is how DC chopper circuit can completethe AM governor.Then it designed the Buck-boost circuit and finished the simulationof the function of Buck-boost.Article analyzed the affect of high harmonics to thedriving circuit. SHEPWM signal can reduce the impact of high harmonics.Finally, article completed measuring the governor characteristics of ultrasonicmotor by linear drive.It can get following conclusions tahat just the driving signalwaveform optimization can not get the good riving effect. Article had completedswitching pulse signal drive experiments. Drive signals, respectively were50%dutycycle square wave and SHEPWM. IT summed that SHEPWM had the better abilityon the Suppression of high harmonics.
