With the fast development of national economy, the degree of utilization of water resources development have been continuing to increase. In recent years, the frequently sudden water pollution incidents threat to the safety of drinking water sources. The investigation found that water bodies from the north to the south are the detection of volatile organic compounds(VOCs),This exhibits that part of the urban drinking water sources were polluted by a certain degree of VOCs pollutants and probably have a risk of contamination of source water from burst VOCs. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out emergency processing technology of VOCs in water to ensure the safety of urban water supply.Due to high efficiency, low operation cost, easy and flexible operation and other advantages, Stripping method are applied to dealing with the burst VOCs contamination of source water,But stripping is just a transfer of pollutants to the atmosphere, which have no effect on change to harmlessness.Meanwhile, a lot of the project processing are likely to cause secondary pollution in bulk-processing, so it is needful to study the harmless technology of tripping waste gas.Using ACFs deal with VOCs in Stripping gas is a practical approach. In this paper,we regarde chlorobenzene as the target pollutants and have some estimates of four active carbon fibre samples from three types of on the adsorption performance on chlorobenzene. We studied the stripping performance of ACFs on chlorobenzene and its influencing factors. The adsorption removal efficiency are related to BET surface area, pore volume, surface chemical property, relative humidity (RH) and temperature factors. The result turns out that NACF exhibite good effect on chlorobenzene adsorption and the adsorption quantity can reach more than40mg/g. The greater of BET specific surface area and pore volume, the greater of the ACF chlorobenzene adsorption rate and adsorption capacity. The RH has a negative effect on chlorobenzene adsorption of the ACF,which enhances as the RH increases, especially when RH is higher than50%, ACF adsorption of chlorobenzene decreased significantly to about13%. To improve the adsorption rate and adsorption capacity of ACF on chlorobenzene,ACF was modified by being impregnated in urea or copper sulfate and then heat treatment in nitrogen. It is obvious that temperature is another vital factor affecting adsorption performance of ACF on chlorobenzene, with the temperature increases, adsorption capacity decline obviously,In addition, under the coexistence condition of water vapor and chlorobenzene steam, the adsorption capacity of ACF on water vapor depend on surface oxygen-containing functional group, the more oxygen-containing functional groups, the greater the water quantity.
