With the development of the technology of UAV, the Micro Flapping Wing flightvehicle (MAV) has became a hot research at the present stage. MAV can lift, fly, hover,steer, landing only with a flapping wing system with small volume. There are manyadvantages of MAV such as having a light weight, being easy to conceal, a low cost andso on. There is a broad prospect of application in the field of national defense and beingcivil.In this thesis, firstly, the kinematics model of the Double-Crank Double-Rockerflapping mechanism and the Crankshaft type Single-Crank Double-Rocker flappingmechanism are set up. The result of the kinematics analysis on them are as follows: Theflapping wings of left wing and right wing of Double-Crank Double-Rocker flappingmechanism has no phase difference, and the movement of this mechanism is smooth,but it is so complex that it is not easy to microminiaturization. Although the flappingwings of left wing and right wing of Crankshaft type Single-Crank Double-Rockerflapping mechanism has a small phase difference, its simple structure, smooth operation,being easy to processing, being easy to miniaturization. It is a good choice for themechanism of MAV. There are also two new mechanisms to be designed, which onlyhas one degree of freedom, but Complex movementUnder the premise of the single degree of freedom, the Coaxial Four flappingwings flight vehicle’s a pair of wing and the Coaxial Eight the flapping wings flightvehicle’s two pair of wings under the premise of the same flutter Angle are calculatedunder the air dynamics simulation. And then, comparing them, it is concluded thatcoaxial eight wing in the prototype design have to advantage as follows: the total ofliftcoefficient of the Coaxial Eight the flapping wings is larger than that of Coaxial Fourflapping wings. Though the left of the Coaxial Eight the flapping wings is a littlesmaller than that of Coaxial Double flapping wings, it has a smaller torque that it saveenergy.According to the intended target, each part of the MAV is to designed andoptimization. The drive part is the Crankshaft type Single-Crank Double-Rockerflapping mechanism. The materials of the parts of the MAV are also chosen. Finally, theCoaxial Eight flapping wings flight vehicle is machined.The experiment platform for the MAV is set up. The force of the MAV ismeasured with different voltage. And then, the hovering conditions ismeasured. Finally,the MAV is flapping in the lab. The design and prototype test experiment, theexperimental results show that the prototype each index comply with the intended target. And it can be deduced that a MAV can be made by Coaxial eight wing model, whosesize is just as a mosquito.
