Hall thruster has been widely applied in orbit missions and space explorationswith high efficiency and high specific impulse. It is most widely used in addition to resistance heating thrust electric thrusters in currently. The thrust-ers life has become the primary problem of the development and application. Thisarticle will study thruster beam focusing with the thick ceramic wall andmorphology changes of the ceramic by experimental study and theoreticalanalysis. Study the the increase in ceramic thickness thruster from the angle ofthe magnetic field changes.By the angle of the magnetic field changes This article was first prop-osed increase in ceramic thickness will increased life of thruster but willcausethe thrust beam special variation analys is of the existence of this problem hasundergone great changes due to the control of the magnetic field of the ionflow in the channel within he pole distance increased and proved by experiments.Further found that by simulating the magnetic field strength and bit type will bechanged within the pole is greater than the outside pole and inside and outsi-de pole1:3is the best state. Secondly, we set up three groups of thruster life atdifferent stages of the ceramic by the experimental study of changes in thruster,Study found that over different stages of the discharge channel, the ion current willincrease, the discharge current will reduce, the ion energy distribution wouldbe more reasonable, and the beam focusing properties will be better. Thrus-ter change may be due to the ceramic cross-section changes in particle densitywithin the channel changes caused by ionization and acceleration process ofchannel migration.Finally, we proceed from the conduction current by experimental measure-ments ofthe distribution of different cross-section of ceramic radial electricpotential distribution and conduction current The study found little impact of potentialchannel cross-section changes, but changed significantly, the conduction currentis lower because the cross-section changes,making the conduction current toimprovethe performance of the thruster.
