| Since the use of natural ventilation to improve indoor air quality is increasingly thefocus of ventilation research fields in recent years, ventilated windows have become ahot spot, that are invented to combine with buildings better. Natural airflow windowsstudied in this investigation are a kind of new ventilated devices used in residentialbuildings, which is based on common windows for severe cold climate zones and theoutdoor air is driven by natural dynamics into rooms through an open vent in thewindow frame.Experimental and theoretical researches have been carried on in this paper toacquire characteristics of the natural airflow windows, including the range and factorsof ventilation rate and supply-air temperature. Also, it is represented how the ventilationrate changes as the different seasons vary naturally and if the natural airflow windowscould apply in severe cold climate zones. In addition, two different types of natural airwindows are compared to choose one that could produce more fresh air.During the heating period, the ventilation rate changes a lot while the supply-airtemperature doesn’t. Volume of the steel natural airflow window ranges from1.2to7.5m3/h, while that of aluminum window ranges from0.55to4m3/h. Temperature ofboth windows is from12℃to19℃. In the same condition, the steel windows producemore air-supply than a Species of aluminum windows, due to the large size of the framecavity, but they need special treatment for anti-condensation and anti-corrosion. Tocalculate ventilation rate and supply-air temperature is possible as natural ventilatedcalculation methods for buildings.Studies have shown that the airflow natural airflow windows can not meet theneeds of the indoor staff, only to a certain extent. Therefore, a hybrid ventilationwindow is invented with natural and mechanical power to supply enough fresh air intothe room. It is forecasted that supply-air temperature may be lower, and the lowest isabout-7℃. |
