Deepwater AUV studied by this paper is mostly used for investigating deepwateroil and gas resources. The main structure of deepwater AUV is composed of mainframe, front frame, cable tank and sensor fixed device. Main frame and front frameare the main load-carrying structure, all the sensors, pressure hulls and batteries areinstalled on them. The cable tank and sensor fixed devices contain importantelectronic equipment of control system and sensor system. In the underwaternavigation, lifting, recovery and transportation process, the main structure must haveenough strength to withstand distributed load of different conditions. In order to meet the use demand of the deepwater AUV,this paper design themain structure and use finite element method to analyze it in detail. After completingto manufacture the deepwater AUV,we do a large number of tests for the mainstructure. The design results and conclusions which are verified through the finiteelement analysis in the paper are accurate through the test. The main contributions of the thesis are summarized as follows:1. Calculate the water resistance and energy consumption of deepwater AUV, andon the basis, calculate the weight of deepwater battery for400kg.2. Design the main frame for the structure as frame beam+transverse keel+shell, and use finite element method to analyze the strength of main frame whendeepwater AUV is lifted on land or in water, and through the analysis, conclude thatthe strength of main frame meets the use requirements and the transverse keel andshell can increase the strength of frame beam.3. Design the front cabin frame based on the finite element analysis of recoveredstrength, and strengthens the local structure. Analyse the road random vibration of thefront cabin frame on the way of transport by finite element method, and conclude thatthe way of reducing stress which was causeed by road random vibration is to reducethe speed power spectral density and increase auxiliary support.4. Design the cable tank based on finite element analysis of rigid instability andelastic instability. Calculate the water resistance and overall strength of the USBLfixed device, and conclude that the strength of fixed device meets the userequirements.
