There are two aspects of influence which Foundation excavation has onbuildings with pile foundation adjacent. The first influence is the displacement of thesoil outside the foundation ditch, which caused by the foundation excavation, can leadto additional displacement and moment. When the additional displacement andmoment accumulate to some degree, the pile foundation will be destroyed and thesuperstructure will be destabilized and destroyed. The other influence is thefoundation excavation can cause differential settlement of the soil outside thefoundation, which will lead to wall crack of the buildings, the destabilization of thecolumns.In this paper, in order to analyze the influence of the excavation of the Renhengfoundation pit on Yuyingtang, the monitoring data of Renheng project are analyzed,and the three-dimensional numerical analysis is also used to analyze this project.Basic law of the influence of the excavation on the nearby buildings with pilefoundation is summarized which is the basis for the following discussion.Selecting enclosure of foundation pit is a important factor which determines theinfluence of the excavation of the foundation pit on peripheral environment. In thispaper, two-dimensional numerical simulation of buildings with pile foundations iscarried out which have different length of piles and different distance to thefoundation pit. The foundation pit has cantilever type, internal convex type andcombination type. The influence rules of different types of foundation pit on nearbybuildings are calculated and summarized in this paper.The influence of the foundation pit on the nearby buildings with pilefoundations is related to the angle between the foundation pit and the building. Thebuildings have different angles with the foundation pits are calculated and the adverseeffects of excavation of the foundation pit on buildings with pile foundations ofdifferent angles are analyzed with finite element software. Reinforcement effect ofdifferent reinforcement scheme on foundation pits and buildings are analyzed andoptimized scheme is proposed in this paper.
