| Along with the outbreak of the capitalist industrial revolution in mid-18th century,the world’s economy had a rapid and dramatic development, which kept acceleratingthe progress of urbanization, the role of urban agriculture did not only play to meetthe basic needs of the urban public, but also was existed in active developing mode tocomplement the progress of industrialization.Experience Economy has arrived, Urban Farm, as an experiential form ofagricultural development, is more and more popular among contemporary citizens.People initially poured into big city for better living conditions, more comprehensiveinfrastructure and social security, and having more working and promotionopportunities. However, after living in big city, which is full of tall buildings, noisyfactories, experiencing frustrating traffic jams and suffering from serious air pollutionone generation after another, people gradually realize the precious of natural scenesand casual lives. Plus, the high speed live style and intense competition add otherelements which raise people’s desire to experience rustic lives. So Urban Farmgradually appears in this contest.Firstly, this paper covers the concept, history and developing course of UrbanFarm, then analysis that Urban Farm could help ease the serious social, environmentaland ecological problems produced by over rapid urbanization, and then help meet thespiritual needs of the people. Second, through analyzing the advantages anddisadvantages of Urban Farm development, the operation and management of ourexisting urban farms, this paper proposes a new form of the Urban Farm–ResidentialFarm, which could successfully avoid those demerits and carry forward merits at thesame time. Because urban farm is convenient, flexible, it is generally recognized by amount of citizens. At the last part of this paper, three levels of recommendations areput forward in order to make sure that urban farms could develop in a sustainable andecological way. |
