Electric temperature control ball valves which have been widely used in heat meters, air-conditioning fan coil, fire sprinkler, intelligent table facilities, water-saving systems and so on with the quick pass off and multi-degree opening of adjustive function. It cooperate with the temperature controller can be adjusted according to the appropriate opening degree for energy saving.In this paper, small-caliber electric temperature control valve as the research object (hereinafter referred to as ball valve), using CFD simulation software FLUENT, flow field characteristics of the ball valve was simulated, and then with the calculating of fluid mechanics theoretical and experimental results are compared to verify the simulation accuracy.This paper used the theoretical formula for the calculation of pre-analysis and provided a theoretical basis for follow-up of the simulation, according to theory of numerical simulation and the actual size of ball valve design, established a calculation model and selected the reasonable solution method to simulate flow field characteristics of ball valve,obtained flow field characteristics.flow coefficient, pressure drop, fluid torque with the change of the different degree opening curve and compared with simulated values, summarized the reasons causing errors and the feasibility of the simulation and the theoretical calculation,meanwhile, get some conclusions. secondly, according to the actual size of ball valve established simulation model to simulate and analyze the characteristics of flow field, based on the conclusion of the simulation establishing simplified calculation model, and deduced the formula for calculating the flow coefficient corresponding to increase the amount of different ball high valve and the flow characteristics are verified with simulation analysis, to draw the flow coefficient curve with the increased steel ball hight amount change and compared with the simplified calculation formula which it had calculated,got some conclusion. Finally, a related hydraulic experiments, obtained flow coefficient, pressure drop, fluid torque of the experimental data, plotted with the change of valve opening corresponding curves,with the theoretical value, simulated value of comparative analysis and numerical simulation studies were summary.
