Reciprocating compressor, widely used in petrochemical field, is one of the core equipments in this field. It has a complex structure and a various forms of fault. With the development of equipment automation, the damaging of the equipment parts will cause the paralysis of the unit and even the production halts. Effective condition monitoring and accurate fault diagnosis technology is an important guarantee for the long-term reliable operation of the reciprocating compressor. The paper will combine theoretical analysis and experimental simulation to do the research of the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis technology of reciprocating compressor. The thesis covers the following aspects.A new method is proposed to solve the problem that the small head watt of connection rod is difficult to be monitored and diagnosed. The method use the theoretical reversing angle to diagnose the fault of the small head watt and the effectiveness of the diagnostic method has been verified by fault simulation experiments. Through the feasibility analysis, designing, manufacturing and installation, the construction of the reciprocating compressor fault simulation bench has been finished. The bench can be used to study the effects of support stiffness to the reciprocating compressor working state and do all kinds of reciprocating compressor fault simulation experiments.The common faults of reciprocating compressor have been simulated in the laboratory. The fault features of reciprocating compressor have been acquired rapidly and the comparison table of fault with fault features has been established by a series of experiment process. Finally, the results of study are used to diagnose the fault of reciprocating compressor in field.
