In the new century, along with the prominent problems of energy and environment in our country, making full use of renewable energy to replace non-renewable energy plays an important role in the development of social and economic. The use of wind energy, solar energy and other new energy, in this regard, has been included in the State Development Planning. In order to solve the problem of electricity and water in Inner Mongolia and a few pastoral areas near the frontier, this paper takes the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region science and technology project " research and application promotion of small-sized wind and solar complementary intelligent water system " as research background, to finish the complete modeling and simulation research objected on the actual trial system, and provides an efficient method for the development and application of the actual system.This paper states the build-up of the small-sized water pumping systems relying on hybrid power of wind and solar as a whole, based on the relationship between flows of energy, analysis the working principle and characteristics deeply. Reference to the actual standard system, standard parameters of small-type wind turbine generator, solar photovoltaic array, battery are matched and selected; according to the principle of the system components, the equivalent mathematical model is completed; simulation model for important components, such us wind turbine generator, photovoltaic array, battery, boost converter and variable frequency speed regulation system, is built in the environment of Matlab/Simulink; model of the small-sized water pumping systems relying on hybrid power of wind and solar is built up as a whole, after packing the simulation model of each components. Finally, putout results of simulation model for small solar and wind hybrid generation systems, boost converter and three-phase asynchrony motor variable frequency speed control system controlled by vector were analyzed in detail, the simulation of the whole system of t the small-sized water pumping systems relying on hybrid power of wind and solar is realized, and the correctness and validity of the system simulation model is verified.
