In the day of industrialization having increasingly developed, motors, as the mainpower source of the industrial production, becomes an important part of people’sproduction and lives. Once motors are broken, the people’s normal production and life willbe impacted. Even more, they may endanger the safety of people’s lives. Only if the stateof the motor is monitored timely and accurately, and all sorts of possible motor’s faults arepredicted in advance, the needed measures will be able to take in order to prevent theoccurrence of accidents. In this monitoring system of motor, the S3C2440A chip is the core microcontroller, and Linux operating system is the software platform. This paper details the variousmodules of the hardware circuit on the hardware side, including power circuit, clock resetcircuit, A/D converter circuit, LCD circuit, data acquisition module and signalconditioning circuit. In the software, not only the Linux kernel is configured, but also theembedded Linux operating system is transplanted. And the root file system is customized. At the same time, the interface of the motor monitoring system online is designed on theembedded GUI development platform—Qt. FFT analysis program and vector rotationtransform analysis procedures are developed. This system can acquire the data of the motor voltage and current in real-time and doon-line state monitoring. It employs the rotating filter method to analyze the spectrum ofthe rotor current in real-time when the induction motor failures occur, such as the statorturn-to-turn short circuit, broken rotor strip and air-gap eccentric faults. Then it can judgethe motor faults based on current frequency components. In the end, the above method isvalidated by comparison with the spectrum analysis of Park’s vector modulus square andHilbert modulus. It is proved that this method is feasible.
