In contemporary, the electromagnetic environment interference of railway track circuit system and even the entire railway signal system is the major problem of the safety running of railway, there are so many technical problems to be solved urgently in the railway’s construction and operation, The electromagnetic environment interference of railway electrical system and even the entire railway signal system is the major problem of the safety running of railway, It’s the leading issues of the electrified railway research. The study of electromagnetic disaster which is caused by geomagnetic stroms is still blank in our country. This paper is interdisciplinary collaboration between railway electrical system, space weather and EMC. It is expected to expound the mechanism and the key factors of disastrous geomagnetic storm impacting on railway electrical system, and to lay a foundation for further researching the security influence and prevention strategy. The research is foresight-looking and innovation, which has the important social benefits and application prospect.In this paper, according to the characteristics of modern electrified railway track circuit and the geomagnetic’s influence to the ground system, firstly, the paper analyses the physical process of geomagnetic induced current(GIC) disoperating the track circuits and the principle of Earth Source Potention(ESP) disturbing the low voltage equipments. Then this paper analyzes the model and algorithm of track circuit which is disoperated by electromagnetic induced current (GIC), According to the model, deducing the matrix equation solution formula for the easy calculation, Analysing the influence factors of track circuit GIC, including the effects of earth electric field direction geomagnetic storm intensity^geological conditions and the geographic latitude.Finally,through querying the related parameters of track circuit model, the size of track circuit’s GIC are estimated by MATLAB, the throttle transformer saturation which caused by GIC are simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink, and the relevant results are analyzed.
