Demand response is an important part of smart grid, it is the main measures to realize grid interaction, the premise of effective implementation of the demand response is making power consumers master many kinds of electricity information and network information, SM/AMI has powerful metering and two-way communication function, can greatly promote demand response of customer. This paper puts forward the active demand response of customer based on SM/AMI, has a detailed analysis on its characteristic in implementation and advantages compared with traditional demand response. After collecting a large number of electricity information by SM/AMI, different customers will respond according to their interests information to improve their power consuming efficiency. Therefore, data classification is significant, this paper classifies the information collected by SM/AMI into user-side and grid-side, elaborates on different information attention situation in grid and users, so that the grid side can more clearly understand the user’s electricity characteristic, and take corresponding response strategies according to different user demand, it will be helpful for power grid to optimize the allocation of resources. the users’ response information will become more diverse because of the powerful information acquisition function of SM/AMI, which can bring many benefits including user, power and comprehensive benefits. This paper establishes user response model which is responsed on price and DG generation based on the theory of consumer psychology, and establishes benefit model of user, grid and environment combining with peak valley price, DG generating capacity and power factor data.The example analysis shows that all kinds of benefits about the response based on various information are far greater than the benefits about the response based on only price, it indicates SM/AMI can greatly promote customer’s demand response, let the customer more actively response to the change of various kinds of power information, it can not only save the user’s electric charge, but also can improve the utilization rate of DG, increase the consuming ability of renewable energy in grid, besides, it can also reduce negative effect of the environment because of power production and promote intelligent and interactive development of smart grid.
