Continuously variable transmission is a high technology which can make driving a car become more convenient and easier, the technology integrated the most advanced electronic control, manufacturing and hydraulic technology into one car, it can make the automobile engine in the process of moving top working condition. Automobile exhaust emission is one of the main causes of pollution, the continuously variable transmission technology also can greatly improve effect of vehicle emission.It is an ideal automotive transmission for a car. In China, some of the key technologies of the Metal Belt CVT have been ownership in the development and industrialization inevitable, however in the course of future development of the Metal Belt CVT, we also need to solve the load bearing torque, the reliability of the system and, how to further improve its efficiency and other problems of the Metal Belt CVT.For the metal steel belt of load torque, this article takes a Metal Belt CVT of a proprietary brand car company to establish a three-dimensional model, and import the model into ADMAS dynamics simulation method, research the thrust of the piece of metal with drive ratio of belt pulley. The three-dimensional model and dynamics simulation method is of great significance for the design of the continuously variable transmission efficiency analysis. The same time, this article also does some research on the loss of efficiency of the CVT. Through the analysis of their source of efficiency loss, it propounds a practical method to improve the efficiency of the CVT, the results showed that the CVT shift institutions and their control strategies have the greatest potential to improve the efficiency of the CVT. And derives a formula based on the clamping force of the slip rate, based on the slip rate control it can effectively reduce the size of the clamping force, so by using slip ratio between the steel belt and pulley control as the parameters of the control method can effectively improve the efficiency of the CVT.Finally, it summarizes the work in the paper, the technology of CVT as one of the most advanced drive technology, my research is not comprehensive enough and also exists some problems, hopefully in the future the inadequacies of this article can be solved.
