Since the reform and opening-up policy, economy of our country has developped rapidly and people’s living standard is increasing day by day. For the living and office building structures gradually raised higher performance requirements. Especially in recent10years, the development of steel structure in our country, is unprecedented. Some of the large span space grid structure is widely applied to the gym, exhibition hall, exhibition center and places of human activities centered. Single-layer reticulated shell structure is a form of spatial grid structure. It has big stiffness, good mechanical performance, strong spanning capacity and structural characteristics. In appearance, the modelling is exquisite, novel and chic, very popular with the public.However, single-layer reticulated shell structure is a kind of defect sensitivity. Under seismic load key bar a handful of damage may affect the performance of the whole structure. And China is a seismically active country in the world. For single-layer reticulated shells under strong earthquake failure mechanism is extremely bearing capacity research is necessary.Characteristics based on the taiyuan area of the site conditions, for60m span, rise-span ratio of1/3of the single-layer spherical reticulated shell structure as the research object in the following work:(1) To collect a large number of countries around the world the magnitude larger seismic data, classified according to the site features and soil conditions. Combining with the site category in our country, divided.(2) To chooseTaiyuan for the proposed site, according to the proposed site of the relevant parameters of single-layer reticulated shell model design, its modal analysis, response spectrum analysis.(3) According to the current aseismic theory and seismic wave selection principle, the method for generating artificial waves. Select22seismic wave (18real seismic waves, four artificial wave) as samples. Use SAP2000finite element analysis software for tools, under strong earthquake, to do structure of the dynamic time history response analysis.(4) In mathematics the mean variance theory, under the action of the selected samples, to analysis the failure of structure bearing capacity evaluation.In this paper, we get the following conclusions:(1) Single-layer reticulated shell400gal amplitude intensity, the structure appears only less plastic hinge, which shows the class structure has a strong seismic performance. Far from meeting the fortification level of our country under rare earthquake.(2) Seismic wave structure for monolayer shells have a large impact, seismic waves with different amplitudes on the structural response of the process and access to different degrees of plasticity, but structural failure threshold capacity difference is small.(3)Most plastic hinges appear near the structure bearing and the main rib.So structure strengthened here, it is possible to get a stronger seismic performance.(4) Structures exist destruction and instability failure strength, strength failure may lead to instability and failure, can lead to instability and failure strength failure, the boundaries between the two is not obvious, but also shows single-layer reticulated shell structure on the surface defect somewhere abnormal sensitive.
