In today’s society, with the continuous exploitation and utilization of fossil energy sources, energy shortages have become increasingly prominent. Environmental pollution and damage get more and more attention of people. Moreover, energy utilization in China is still at a low level and energy waste is very common phenomenon in our country. However, waste heat resources are abundant in our country, making use of it can achieve a good effect in energy saving. Waste heat in the coal-fired power plants is such a class which allows us to consider the use. A lot of energy in the thermal power plant wills emission to the surroundings through the cooling circulation water of condenser and the exhaust gas of the boiler. These two types of waste heat all can be used, but in the past people pay more attention to the boiler flue gas which has high temperature and is easy to use. In recent years, some plant use the way of low vacuum operation to supply heat with cooling circulating water, but the quantity of heat supply is not much and the number is not many. This part of the waste heat utilization is not enough. Usually waste heat released into the environment and lead to thermal pollution on the environment. It is also a waste of energy.The absorption heat pump is a very effective way to save energy. It can make use of abandoned heat in industrial production or emissions after using, so make them become higher quality heat, and then provided to the user. Absorption heat pump technology is energy-efficient and environmental-friendly. And it creates huge social and economic benefits. In recent years the development of the absorption heat pump is very rapidly, and the applications in actual production and living is also increasing.In this paper, it takes a project that a power plant uses waste heat for central heating as an example to discuss the application of heat pump in the supercritical unit. First, the article describes the situation of the domestic and international energy production and consumption, which in turn leads to the necessity and significance of the recovery of waste heat. Then the development of heat pump technology and application of absorption heat pump are introduced. And make a deeper look into the history and recent applications of waste heat utilization absorption heat pump. Secondly, there are some necessary introductory of thermal economics analytical methods in this paper, including the history of its development and three main models as well as the basis thermodynamic and economics of it.Then make thermal econometric modeling of absorption heat pump system according to the specific project. And then analyzed and calculated according to the model of the absorption heat pump system. Finally, make thermal economic analysis and comparison on this system and reach relevant conclusions.
