Traffic accident is in a state of increasing and it results in that the number of people injured in traffic accident increases year by year along with the automobile industry in the our country developing quickly more and more. The mutual collision between the automobile appears inevitably and the knee injury caused by this will increase more and more, so people request the automobile safety higher and higher. Head and chest have been better protected with the universal application of the seat belts and airbags the distribution of collisions and severity of injuries have been changed, but it does not prevent other parts such as legs injuries occurred. Knee is the hub of the lower extremity as the most important and most complex joint of the low extremity. Therefore, it will benefit to establish the protection measure correspondingly and decrease the rate of injury, through researching the knee biomechanics mechanism and the problem of knee injury biomechanics in the traffic accident. Therefore, main works are as follows for making this dissertation:1. Analyzing the organization structure of the human knee joint, understanding the conjunction condition between the organizations and the biomechanics mechanism, preparing an ample data for establishing the3D geometric model and finite element model;2. The3D geometrical data of the human low extremity was obtained from the spiral CT-scan images by using the technique of3D reconstruction and data transformation.3. Applying the TrueGrid software to establish the finite element model, and applying the HyperMesh to repair the mesh appropriately on the foundation of establishing the3D geometric model,4. Carrying on experiment strictly and theories verification to the3D knee injury biomechanics model, conclusion were drawn based on the analyzed results of the impact simulation.5. Researching measures for occupant knee injury protection by buffer absorbing vehicle structure and vehicle occupant protection measuresThe establishment of3D knee injury biomechanics model has the function of pushing for research the knee injury biomechanics problem. This study has theories meaning and actual application value for reducing the knee injury. This research provided a set of methods for the study of other parts of human body injury biomechanics, and established foundation for following research work.
