Line loss rate is an important economic and technical indicator of power system economic operation and management level. Theoretical line loss calculation is an effective method for scientific assessment of line loss rate’s level. However, because power system is a large-scale system, there are too many data need to be used in theoretical line loss calculation. Therefore, Data collection and model maintenance have always been two major challenges that affect the efficiency of theoretical line loss calculation.In order to handle these two problems, relying on a certain municipal power supply bureau’s graphics-based intelligent theoretical line loss analysis and management system development, this thesis designs the scheme to read online data of power system through CIM data file and E language runtime data files, and has developed a data exchange interface that reads power grid’s structure data and real-time operating data from SCAD A, distribution network GIS and DSM systems. Moreover, the program makes a comprehensive analysis to these data and forms a grid model. This scheme makes it a reality to calculating theoretical line loss with online data and is an effective way to avoid artificial error in data collection and input process. As results of this scheme’s application, line loss staffs workload for data maintenance is greatly reduced and the calculation efficiency of theoretical line loss is improved with the advancement of scientificity and integrity.Facing the fact that there are large differences in local area grids’ automation level, power system modeling method based on Visual Graph is researched and realized for those situations that can’t read grid structure data from other system. This method is effective to solve the problem of high development costs of professional power system application software’s graphical editing functionality and is very useful in rapid modeling of power system visualization. Power system modeling tool implemented with this method has been applied and promoted in a certain province’s theoretical line loss calculation. As showed in practice, the proposed method has improved the efficiency and shortened the cycle of software development besides exhibiting good performance and excellent practical value.
