With the wide application of new energy technologies, research and industrializationof lithium battery management system has become a hot issue in the development of theindustry. Lithium battery management system’s main function is implenting management,monitoring and protection during the time of charge or discharge process of lithium battery,in order to prevent cell damage and improve the working performance of the battery packs.In this paper, lithium battery as the research object, it has analysized the characteristicsof battery during the process of charging and discharging, and done some research of thebattery state of charge, also done software simulation about estimation algorithm usingextend kalman filter.About the hardware implementation, setting up the Li-ion battery management systemexperiment platform that microchip dsPIC30F series of6014MCU as the core controller.Mean while the real-time information of voltage,current, temperature about batteryparameters has been collected by the sensors, then using the module of RS485and CANcommunication ways to connecting each module of the system, last the system real-timedatas have been transmited to the computer.About the Software implementation, on one hand, research the design of the softwareprocess about the acquisition module, the process of charging and discharging, the controlbalance, in order to realize the rational management. On the other hand, research thecommunication scheme of the whole system, and write the application programs aboutmicrocontroller and PC of the whole system, and establish database to store relevant datas,in order to realize visualized operation conveniently.
