At present, engineering structures are becoming both stiff and flexible, which make the work environment of structures increasingly sophisticated. Reducing the weight of structure or mechanism, improving the payload, and meeting the special service environment become the eternal pursuit idea for designers. The structural topology optimization is an advanced technology based on the conventional optimization design. Its purpose is to seek the best design and shorten the design period, which could resolve the contradiction between dynamic and static characteristics including structural stiffness and strength and the design resources of quality and cost. It is necessary to investigate the structural topology optimization method and develop its application software based on existing finite element analysis software, which are of great value in the structural optimization theory and engineering application.This thesis introduces the basic theory of a guide-weight method and its advantage. ABAQUS is one of the most powerful finite element analysis software, which contains powerful calculation functions, extensive simulation performance, and a lot of different kinds of finite element models, material models and the analysis processes. ABAQUS also is of the powerful FEA computational capabilities and the capability dealing with highly nonlinear optimized problems. Based on the ABAQUS, a new structural topology optimization method and its software considering design space adjustments and compliance is proposed and developed in this thesis, combining with a new interpolation filter and the guide-weight method for the structure topological optimization problem with the objective function being the compliance and volume constraints. The results given in this thesis show that the proposed method is of the advantage of less number of iterations, less calculation quantity and high efficiency, which also verify its feasibility and efficiency.In addition, for the structure topological optimization problem with the objective function being the compliance under displacement and structural volume constraints, combining with the guide-weight method, a new structural topology optimization method and its software are developed. Several simulation examples are given, and their results show that the method proposed is of good theoretical and engineering application value.
