Solar energy is green and security while LED lighting is of great energy savingand environmental protection,combination of the two technologies becomes the focusof current research.Both the two technologies have the characteristics of direct currentand low-voltage driving,so they are able to be technically matched. The combination ofsolar energy technology with LED lamps has better energy-saving effect.Independent solar street lamp has been taken for example in this paper.This paperhas designed a solar energy power controller and a LED constant current driver toapply to solar LED street lighting and meet the need of solar LED Street lightingsystem of low or middle power. The design of the program has been accomplishedthrough the introduction of the basic principles and characteristics of solar batteries,lead-acid batteries and LED light source.The solar energy power controller and theLED constant current driver are designed as a basis for charge and discharge strategyoptimizing of lead-acid batteries. A converter based on BUCK circuit to realizetwo-stage charge strategy has been designed. A LED constant current driver based onFLYBACK circuit to realize discharge strategy has been designed.The design hasimproved the efficiency of the driver and achieved the requirements of overvoltageprotection, overcurrent protection and reverse polarity protection.
