Sphere dome structure is widely used in industry store, and is easily destroyed by wind load because of its light-weight roof. The characteristics of wind load on this structure have relation with structure factors, such as radian, height to diameter ratios, open/shut condition, and wind factors, such as wind terrain types, wind speed and its surface roughness. Therefore, the wind load distribution on sphere dome structure means a lot to wind-resistant research on similar structure. The characteristics of wind loads distribution on hemisphere dome were mainly studied in this paper.Based on the pressure tests of rigid model in wind tunnel, the basic characteristics of wind load distribution on hemisphere dome were studied in this paper, the effect of its wind load characteristics was analyzed via changing Reynolds number, surface roughness and wind terrain types. The basic characteristics of wind load distribution on hemisphere dome were summarized under conditions of different flow fields as well as different surface roughness, in order to offer suggestions for the similar structure and wind-resistant desigh. The major contents of this paper includes the following:First. The basic characteristic distributions of wind pressure and aerodynamic loads on hemisphere dome were provided through wind tunnel tests in smooth flow.Second. The effect of Reynolds number on hemisphere dome was studied via changing wind speed and surface roughness.Third. The characteristic distributions of wind pressure and aerodynamic loads on hemisphere dome structure were provided via changing wind terrain types.Fourth. Above all, the advices on wind-resistant desigh of similar structure and wind tunnel tests were finally given.
