The global energy supply is facing the pressures of demand growth, energy saving and emission reduction. How to coordinate the relations between the energy and environment is an urgent problem at present. An organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is a key technology in the field of waste heat utilization. It generates high grade energy from upper system’s waste heat resources with higher thermodynamics efficiency, using an organic fluid as working medium. In the research and application of ORC, the integration with upper energy system is an important issue. In this paper, ORC is combined with other energy conversion process, such as10kW micro-CCHP system, to form a composite energy system, which has R245fa as the working medium. Pinch analysis is used to analyze the basic ORC system as well as the modified ORC with CCHP system. Under winter and summer different conditions, the optimization and redesign of the system’s heat exchange network is discussed. And then the performance after the transformation is evaluated, such as energy utilization efficiency and economic cost.
