As the great advantage of high voltage DC transmission in long distance,nonsynchronous interconnection, regional intercourse and so on, there are more and moreextensive application in the power system, because there is nothing comparable to it’stechnical superiority. Subsequently, a series of new problems appeared on technology andmanagement. For AC/DC hybrid transmission system, particularly for UHV DC withmulti-feed DC network. Study of the converter voltage stability and the voltage supportingability of receiver system is a very important problem. Besides,In the complex AC/DC hybridpower system, for the sending and receiving of power transmission, problems about thetransmission scale have gradually emerged in power system transient study.The HVDC transmission capacity is mainly composed of its associated communicationsystem and the supporting ability. Therefore, to study and draw a reasonable AC/DC scale,sending/receiving scale combined transmission mode in the engineering practice, is of greatimportance.This paper explores the power system transient stability analysis methods, and throughthe BPA simulation software to build the sets of AC/DC hybrid system model, by therequirements of safety, feasibility, rationality and other conditions to the changes in sendingand receiving modes on power system transient stability study, and then get the generalconclusion.Finally, This paper relies on the Southern Power Grid in long-term DC transmissionscale research project, Analysis of system N-1,N-2and three-phase short circuit ofsingle-phase to reflect the system’s stability. The research results show that: on the guidanceof the AC/DC transmission engineering practice, improving the stability of South Chinapower Grid, improving the "west to East " transmission scale and ensure the safety of thesystem has an important reference value.
