Restricted at the detection time and cost requirements, the emerging X-ray imaging techniques such as CT and backscattered is not widely used in the field of security inspection. It is still the mainstream security imaging technology that the relatively mature X-ray transmission imaging technology based on single source and dual-energy in a very long period of time. This paper improves the hardware and software systems of the security inspection based on the single-source dual-energy X-ray transmission imaging technology. The purpose is to design and implement a complete set of X-ray security inspection system to improve the cost-effective and to enhance the market competitiveness.This paper completes the X-ray image acquisition and transmission system design, and completes the machine electrical control system design and the software system design of the security inspection equipment through the functional analysis of the security system. After researching the working principle and characteristics of the line array X-ray sensors, to design the X-ray image acquisition and transmission system, this paper constituts a data acquisition circuit with a high-speed A/D chip in the help of introducing the FPGA digital circuit design technology, builds a RAM data cache in the FPGA, and complets the real-time data acquisition and high-speed transmission with the USB2.0as the agreement. The machine electrical control system adopts the MSP43016-bit low-power microcontroller as underlying core controller to complete the design of the machine electrical control panel, which implements the monitoring of the light barrier signals and the whole chain signals, and also implements the control of transmission system. After hardware design, this paper designs the software system management and control framework of the Industrial PC based on the Windows system message response mechanism. To achieve the main function of the system, this paper programs the main thread and the corresponding message response procedures of the image data acquisition, image processing and image display. And also discusses other image processing functions and completes the entire functional system integration. The test results show that the system hardware and software system design is feasible, the accuracy and stability meet the national standards, and has the promotion and practical value.
