With the rapid development of automobile industry and continuous improvement ofPeople’s living standard, people pay more attention to the comfort of thermal environment inthe bus. A reasonable set of air conditioning and distribution of the airflow in bus, not onlyhas a direct and important impact on passengers’thermal comfort, but also is related to initialdesign cost. From this point, a domestic produced bus was investigated, based on Fluidmechanics, heat transfer theory. A three dimension numerical simulation was researched inthe fluent by using the RNG k-ε model and wall function method, which was studied for theflow distribution inside the bus. Both flow and temperature distribution as well as airflowevaluation indexes in the bus was studied under different air inlet parameters. The study notonly provided a theoretical basis to improve indoor thermal environment, passengers’thermalcomfort and air conditioning running cost, but also can guide the optimal design of airflowdistribution in air-conditioned bus.First, the paper has a brief review of the research fact domestically and globally, with theintroduction of the significance of this topic. Second, it introduced the theory of turbulence,turbulence model and numerical methods, and analyzed the indoor heat transfercharacteristics; meanwhile, the impact of the solar radiation, wall heat transfer and humanthermal load on the indoor heat transfer were fully taken into consideration, which provided abasis for the set of boundary conditions.Third, the paper established a three-dimensionalmodel of the bus by its actual geometry parameters, and determined the calculation model andparameters of boundary conditions according to indoor airflow characteristics andenvironmental parameters. Then based on pre-theoretical analyze, the distribution of indoortemperature and velocity field with different air supply parameters was calculated byFLUENT software. By comparative analysis by qualitative or quantitative method, itindicated the influence rules of different supply air temperature and wind speed on interiortemperature and velocity field. Finally, based on simulated results, the paper evaluated andanalyzed the impact of different air inlet parameters on irregularity coefficient of temperatureand speed, characteristics of air distribution and other factors.
