Suspension bridge is now recognized as the most powerful bridge type with highability of obstacle surmounting. Suspension bridge has predominance prominence inmaking full use of material property and high-span ratio of stiffening girder. Because ofthis, it is a ideal chose to cross strait、river and gorge. The technology in design andconstruction of suspension bridge will have extensive application foreground.Our country is being in bridge-building peak times compared with other countriesof the word. With the developed of transportation construction in west areas of ourcountry,the suspension bridges in the mountain area develop rapidly.There aredifferences between the construction of the bridges in inland plain area.Lots ofdeep-cutting gorge in the west areas and also has complex geological conditions.So wemostly use long span suspension bridge to leap over inorder to avoid high pier withhundreds of meters. According to this reason, tunnel anchorages tend to become thepreferred form of anchorage of suspension bridge in the optimum conditions. So it hasimportant significance to research and develop the technology in design andconstruction of suspension bridge.There is a lack of application experience and literature of long span suspensionbridge’s tunnel anchorage. We have not find out the tunnel anchorage surrounding rockhow to deform under drawing of main cable. It is constraint to recognize the behaviorsof pile and bearing capacity of surrounding rock, hinder the development of design andcalculation method for tunnel anchor, restrict tunnel anchorage the widespread use oftraffic construction in mountainous areas of western region.The Puli Bridge of the PuXuan highway in Yunnan is on the consteuction,its mainbridge is sunspension bridge with tunnel anchorage. This paper relies on this project,research the mechanical testing and measuring of rock mass、anchor uplift mechanismand stability of surrounding rock of tunnel design standards、stability analysis ofsurrounding rock、rock mass strengthening and so on.Solving the key technology in theconstruction and providing technical support for the smooth construction of the project.The research achievements will be useful for solving the key long span suspensionbridge design technology in the west region currently,also can promote the progress oftechnology of long-span suspension bridge.It has great significance for reducing projectcost and improving structural safety. It has significant economic and social benefits.
