The rural water supply system is an important infrastructure in the development of the rural economy, and it is to improve rural living conditions and ensure the security of rural drinking water. It can also promote the development of rural economy, increasing the farmers’ foundation of income. Meanwhile, it is connected with the people’s physical and mental health, and is to maintain the broad masses of the people’s fundamental interests and to carry out the scientific concept of development. It is the basic requirements of building a harmonious society. It is a necessary requirement to promote rural development and narrow the gap between countryside and city, and is the important content to realize an Overall Well-off Society and a new socialist countryside. So, making rural drinking water safety project has important practical significance.In the water supply engineering, the expenses of water pipe investment network generally accounts for50%-80%of total costs, moreover, it affects the energy consumption, the operation and management fees and the water supply system of performance and reliability.Meanwhile, there are more places which need the project of rural drinking water,, which has characteristics of both public welfare and poverty alleviation, so it is very necessary to optimize the rural water supply pipe network. Combining the safe drinking water projects in rural areas of Ningxia and using mathematical modeling and optimization theory, this paper studied the design of water supply pipe network optimization. The main work is:(1) To optimize the structure of pipe network layout. It is established for the minimum set of single objective optimization model by adding up the cost between construction and operation management., and then it is estimated the unit flow annual computation cost, and it is taken as the pipe weight.(by Dick Stella (Dijkstra) algorithm and the Excel automatic calculation function combination,) Search the shortest path in the Excel sheet and generate economic form of pipes. That is to say, the lowest cost of pipe network layout is a foundation for the next step of pipe diameter optimization combination.(2) To optimize the pipe diameter combination. Set up a multi-objective optimization mathematical model from two aspects of the economy and reliability of the network. In the process of modeling, the reliability is defined as "weighted mean of nodal extra pressure" and "pipe network resilience", in order that the reliability evaluation of the water supply pipe network is more intuitive and quantitative.(3) To verify by engineering examples. By using the solver function in Excel and0-1programming function calculation, the calculation results show that:compared this method to calculate the results with the traditional method of calculating results, it saves about147200yuan in the operation and management expenses. It is proved that the two is more economic than traditional methods, and grasps and operates more easily.
