Position sensor is the indispensible sensor in PMSM driving system for it provides real-time rotor position which is crucial in Field Oriented Control to achieve high performance torque controlled. The intermittent fault and complete sensor failure may finally affect system’s performance and its safe and reliable operation; therefore it is urgent and necessary to carry out research on position sensor fault-tolerant control of vector controlled PMSM system.Firstly, this dissertation deduced mathematical PMSM model, set up sensorless PMSM vector control system based on direct scaling method, and researched on mid-high speed sensorless PMSM vector control. On the basis of above research, fault-tolerant control strategy of position sensor failure has been designed based on maximum likelihood algorithm. Then a novel PMSM driving system integrated with vector control and position sensor fault-tolerant control has been presented. At last, SIMULINK model of the system has been set up and simulation results verified the strategy proposed in the dissertation.
