It is an era that the marine economy rapidly develops, so a betterunderstanding of marine environment is required in order to meet the developmentof marine economic exploitation.As one of the most typical and the mostdestructive marine environment factors, sea wave has been widely paid attentionfor long time by researchers. With the development of computer technology, usenumerical simulation technology to research wave motion has become one of theimportant subjects in ocean engineering.In this paper, defining inlet boundary wave generation, physical wavegeneration and source wave generation are used to simulate some wave models,and also get a well wave field. The results showed that defining inlet boundarywave generation method is a easy method to generation Linear wave, second-orderStokes wave and irregular wave, and has a stable wave shape, but the wavedamping phenomenon is serious. Physical wave generation can get a stable waveshape and a less wave-damping phenomenon, but it’s not suitable to generatenonlinear wave. Source wave generation is suitable to generate many wave models,and the wave damping is not obvious, but it’s stable is worse than the two former.The analysis of the wave shape indicates that wave-damping method can absorbthe wave energy effectively, so the stability or the precision of wave are improved.Based on the results of the wave height along tank, it is concluded that waveaberrations is more obvious for higher wave scale. So it is especially necessary toadopt wave-damping technology when to numerical higher wave scale.It isindicate that in low frequency the calculated spectrum agree well with thetheoretical spectrum, while in high frequency the agreement is not good.The research of wave flow field structure shows that the vortex displays someregularity. On the wave surface between wave crest and present is vortex core. Thewave crest corresponding vortex system present anti clockwise rotation, while thetrough’s present clockwise rotation. The flow field structure stay constant whenwave scale and wave model changes, it presents the topological invariance.
