Research On Theoretical Calculation And Evaluation Of Braking Performance For Automobile With ABS

The quality of automobile’s braking performance is directly related to traffic safety. ABS(It is short for Anti-lock Braking System) because of it has the advantages of non-slip,anti-lock, has been more and more widely applied in the automobile.After automobileequipped ABS (The paper referred to automobile with ABS), its braking performanceevaluation is becoming the focus of the study of the industry. In order to be able to betterresolve the evaluation of braking performance for automobile with ABS, and on the basis ofthe existing research about automobile braking performance theoretical calculation methods,the braking performance and evaluation for automobile with ABS is discussed to the methodsof theoretical calculations and analysis.This paper, firstly, analyzed the composition and working principle of ABS, on the basisof the analysis, summarized the basic composition and function of ABS, elaborated theworking Process of ABS, introduced the types of ABS and Compared to the different types ofABS. Secondly, Theoretical formulas of braking performance for automobile without ABS areestablished. And the theoretical formulas of braking performance for automobile with ABSare derived, in the case that pressure adjustment frequency and adjustment amplitude of thesystem parameters of the automobile are considered. In addition, the theoretical formulas ofbraking performance for automobile with or without ABS are simulated, using MATLABsimulation software. At last, theoretical calculation of braking performance for automobile areestablished, by setting the slip rate and brake tire trace relationship. Then the brake tire traceof automobile can draw in various conditions by this method, and also can reflect thedifferences of brake traces caused by different ABS parameter. Therefore, combined withtheoretical calculation of braking performance and brake tire trace, it can be obtained amethod to evaluate the braking performance of automobile with ABS. And the brakingperformance is evaluated by using theoretical calculation of braking performance forautomobile.The established theoretical formulas of braking performance for automobile with orwithout ABS are compared. It showed that the braking time and distance of automobile withABS are decreased, proved the theoretical calculations are validity and accuracy. On the onehand the brake tire trace of automobile with ABS reflected the braking performance. On theother hand, the system parameters of the automobile with ABS are showed. It has somereference value and practical significance for the evaluation of braking performance forautomotive with ABS and the accident analysis.
