The earthquake damage shows that shear wall at the bottom is very easy to bedamaged in plastic hinge, and eventually lead to structural damage, so strengthen theanti-seismic capacity of shear wall in the plastic hinge region is the key to improve itsseismic performance. PVA-ECC is a project of fiber reinforced cement based compositematerials, high toughness, high tensile strength and high breaking capacity, and thestrain hardening and multiple cracking characteristics. In order to improve the seismicperformance of shear wall structure, it is putted PVA-ECC material in shear wall in theplastic hinge zone instead of ordinary concrete to formate a new seismic shear wallstructure.This paper uses the method of experimental study and finite element simulationcombined, the shear walls with PVA-ECC material in plastic hinge zone were tested andseismic analysised, the main research contents are as follows:(1) Research on quasi-static test for the shear wall with PVA-ECC material inplastic hinge region. Through the2shear wall of shear span ratio2.1under low cyclicloading of the quasi-static test, research for the failure process, the problem of shearwall failure patterns, hysteretic behavior, energy dissipation capacity and ductility.(2) Nonlinear finite element analysis for the shear wall with PVA-ECC material inplastic hinge region. Using the finite element software ABAQUS for the nonlinearpushover analysis while choosing the reasonable tension and compression, a damageconstitutive model and element model, established the finite element model of shearwall. The results show that, the simulation load displacement curves agree well with the experimental data, show that in the appropriate material constitutive equation and finiteelement parameters, analysis model can simulate the shear wall test force performanceof the nonlinear ABAQUS software build.(3) Analysis influence parameters of the seismic performance for the shear wallwith PVA-ECC material in plastic hinge region. Considering the shear wall PVA-ECCheight, PVA-ECC material strength, axial compression ratio and shear span ratio,analyzed the effects of these parameters on the PVA-ECC shear wall for skeleton curveand ductility.
