| Lane change is one of the most common driving behavior, is also a kind of easy to causetraffic conflict process, so the researchers proposed using the change warning system toimprove the safety of lane change process. During vehicle lane change process, drivers usingTLC (time to line crossing) as the steering wheel operation basis at the lateral movement ofvehicles, while for the longitudinal movement of vehicles using TTC (time to collision) as thebasis of brake. At present, most of the early warning system only using TTC as the evaluationindex, This warning system based on the distance when change the longitudinal direction.While using single TTC index is easy to cause false alarm situations, in fact, vehicle lateralmotion is the important cause leading to the accident. In view of this situation. This paperpresents TLC which is an important evaluation index, TLC can predict the driver’s intentionof lane change and inform the vehicle’s time line crossing in advance, then in order to reducefalse alarm rate and false negative rate.First of all, radar sensors, lane line identification system, GPS, gyroscope, CAN bus datacapture card and other instruments were used to gather characterization parameterssynchronization. Driving manipulation parameters, vehicle running parameters and roadenvironment parameters were collected.Secondly, use the absolutely lateral displacement to form the actual route of the vehiclelane change process by using real road lane change behavior test data, and study therelationship between TLC and lane change trajectory. By analyzing a large number of lanechange trajectories, this paper puts forward5key factors influencing TLC: the roadenvironment, road curvature, steering wheel angle, lateral displacement, vehicle speed, andgives theoretical analysis and study.Last,according to different road curvature, the road is divided into two major categoriesof straight road and curve road in common. This paper establishes a prediction geometrymodels for straight and curve road’s time to line crossing in the lane change respectively.Using real data of lane change to verify model, verifying test result shows that the TLCprediction model can predict the time more accurately from the time to line crossing in theprocess of lane change. |
