| In recent years, traffic hit-and-run case is increasing year by year, which disrupts thenormal traffic order severely. Conversely, the detection rate of traffic hit-and-run case keepslow all the time. As one of the most common trace material evidences of traffic hit-and-runcase, tire marks provides important clues for the detection of this kind of case. Therefore, theanalysis of tire trace left on the road plays an important role in increasing the detection rate oftraffic hit-and-run case.Considering the demand of people who processes the road traffic hit-and-run case, thisstudy discusses the formation mechanism and extraction methods of the tire marks, and thendesigns tire marks acquisition test. By sorting the test result, this research builds a vehicle tiretrace identification system based on the information database of vehicle tire marks, withwhich people can effectively access to the hit-and-run vehicle model and narrow the scope ofinvestigation of suspicious vehicles, which provides technical support for the investigation ofhit-and-run cases. The main contents are:(1) To provide data support and reality consult for the study of tire marks, this researchanalyzes the formation mechanism and identification methods of tire marks, designs the realvehicle road test and acquisition test of tire marks at the scene of the accident, and systemizesthe samples of marks test with classified code.(2)Taking the tire marks obtained from test as the study sample, this paper establishesthe main characteristics of tire marks and the evaluation methods of tire marks features withthe main characteristics. Based on the "magic formula" tire model and model of tire wear, thisresearch puts forward the factor of tire wear, thus comes to evaluation methods of tire marksunder different motion state; Taking the structural characteristics and mechanical properties ofthe tire tread and suitable vehicle as the evaluation factor of marks characteristics, thisresearch establishes the characteristics of tire marks with different tread patterns; Taking thevehicle’s dimensions, quality parameters and ABS assembly as evaluation factors, thisresearch sums up the trace characteristics of the different types of vehicles.(3) Develop vehicle tire marks identification system. Based on Visual C++6.0, thisresearch designs vehicle tire marks identification system by using MFC ADO DLLdevelopment technology and connecting to the Microsoft Access database system. Theidentification system consists of login module, the comparison module of tire marks,information retrieval module and information management module.
