| The amount of land per capita is less than the world average but the Population is thelargest in China. It is an inevitable requirement to take full advantage of land resources forsustainable development. Hydraulic engineering in cutting the bends project, not only is aflood control project, but it is also a project for land regeneration. Straightening, by definition,is to connect the inlet and outlet of a curved river in the form of a straight line to form astraight line river. Non-use land originally surrounded by the river has exposed and can beused as arable land, also can be used as land for urban housing, which will be a sum of greatwealth to local government who cherish the dust like a mountain of gold.In the actual project, some of the works can not be completely straightened due to thelimitations of the topography, geological conditions, so there is a new form of engineering tochange big bend into small corner. Because the flow of water in the corners is more complexthan the straight line river’s, how to select the bend radius of curvature becomes an importanttopic. The paper, relying on the South rivers physical works in Zhen ping county, studypreliminarily on the changes of the river flow regime after the bend transformation.Firstly, by the river fixed bed model test, we observed the changes of the water flow inthe river bends before and after the transformation and initially verify the feasibility of theproject. According to the data of the flow velocity and water level measured by test, comparedthe advantages and disadvantages of the three different radius of curvature and to choose thebest option through theoretical analysis.Secondly, through the river movable bed model test, we found the lack of pre-selectedprograms and knew corners sediment washed obvious in the pre-selected programs. So wehave done additional tests and analysis adverse flow factors of pre-selected program. For thelack of pre-selected programs, we selected effective measures to governance.we finallycombined with the theoretical analysis to verify the feasibility of the improvement measures. |
