With the development of power electronic technology from the rectifier by earlyuncontrollable diode rectifier circuit to the evolution of the controllable rectifier now, although the rectifier technology has made great progress, but there are still problems ofharmonic pollutions and power factor. But the three-phase full controlled rectifier withSPWM technology (also known as PWM rectifier) is a kind of environmental rectifiermodel, which can reduce the harmonic pollutions and improve the power factor. This paper compares the voltage source SPWM rectifier (VSR) with the current sourceSPWM rectifier (CSR), then the overall working principles of SPWM rectifiers are analyzed, and the characteristics of each circuit can be concluded, finally the current source type SPWMrectifier is selected as the focus of research.Firstly, the analysis is based on mathematicalmodel of the three-phase CSR, in order to facilitate the control, the mathematical model in theDQ coordinates of three phase CSR is derived, and the main circuit of three-phase CSR istransformed equally to DQ transformer circuit, by analyzing the DQ transformer circuit’sstatic characteristics, the corresponding relationship of the DC output, the active power and thereactive power with the input variables is concluded. Secondly, the analysis is based on thePWM modulation technique for three-phase CSR, and the simulation circuit is designedwhich can modulate the correct PWM signals. Finally, it is analyzed that the two kinds ofcontrol strategy of three phase CSR, by using the control strategy, the circuit model is built inthe Matlab/Simulink simulation software, and it’s simulated correctly to proof the theory withthe indication of the three-phase CSR’s advantages, and it makes the foundation for researchand production in the future.
