Power industry is an important department in the national economy, and plays animportant guarantee function to the national and people’s life. Nowadays, along with thedevelopment of modern civilization and modern high technology, the demand for power inour country is growing, especially in the background of the construction and implementationof "energy-saving highway" UHV project at State Grid, the continuous expansion of powergrid multiplies the construction of power grid under complicated geographic conditions,which makes it more difficult to guarantee power system anti-theft. And in recent years,electrical accidents caused by destruction and stealing of electric power facilities increase dayby day. Therefore, how to monitor and alert the environment around electric powertransmission and transformation site has become a very urgent issue.An intelligent anti-theft technology based on video differentiation analysis was proposedin this paper, it can be applied in power system and realize real-time intelligent monitoring onthe environment around electric power transmission and transformation site. The overalldesign scheme of intelligent anti-theft system applied in power system is put forward and itsvarious modules are introduced briefly. The research focus on the intelligent anti-theft targetdetection algorithm, such as optical flow method, the inter-frame difference method,background subtraction and so on. In view of the shortage of the inter-frame differencemethod and the background subtraction method, a moving target detection algorithm whichcombines the inter-frame difference method and the background subtraction based on Kalmanis presented. This algorithm substracts the current frame from background model, then it usesthe OTSU algorithm to determine the threshold, so the moving target area can be segmented.Meanwhile it uses the improved inter-frame difference method to detect the current frameimage so as to get moving target area, at last, caring on the logic operation between themoving target area got here and the moving target area extracted by the above backgroundsubtraction. On the basis of improved target detection algorithm and the whole algorithmicflow specifically designed for the environment around the electric power transmission andtransformation site, combined with analysis and comparision of the image preprocessingalgorithm, shadow removal algorithm and moving target postprocessing algorithm, the suitable image processing algorithms are chose and the detailed introduction is presented, inaddition, the proposed intelligent anti-theft algorithm is tested and analyzed.On the one hand, through the laboratory simulation test which takes video from thesimulation environment and combines the video analysis system, the functional verificationfor the algorithm was carried through, on the other hand, the whole system debugging wasconducted in a transmission line site of xinjiang electric power company. The results showthat the intelligent anti-theft technology proposed in this paper, which is based on videodifferentiation analysis and is applied in power system, can realize the intelligent, real-timeand efficient monitoring on the environment around the electric power transmission andtransformation site, so as to greatly enhance the safety and work efficiency of power system.
