As an essential testing equipment of The hardware-in-the-loop simulation,electric torque load simulator (ETLS) is mainly used to simulate the load torque thesteering gear suffered during flight. Recent years, the acceleration of high-speedaircraft, its rudder load characteristics are becoming more complicated. Thus, theresearch on aircraft servo load simulator technology is of strong practicalsignificance. Taking simulation technology of high-speed aircraft servo load asbackground, in this paper, the characteristics servo load under high-speed is detailedanalyzed and a new ETLS structure is designed. Meanwhile, as a specific problem ofETLS, surplus torque suppression methods is given.Firstly, the paper states the background and significance of the research andanalyzes the characteristic and form of aerodynamic loads on the high-speed flightcontrol surface. By summarizing the Research status of ETLS, in various aspects, thepaper points out the achievements and deficiencies of ETLS technology research.Secondly, by analyzing the characteristics of rudder load and the defects ofcurrent research, the necessity of the research on new ETLS simultaneously loadedby bending moment and torque is pointed out. Models of the steering gear system,the torque loading system, the bending moment loading system model and the areestablished. For joint loading system, the coupling property of the is analyzed and themechanical drawing is designed. Based on the system model, further study on inertiafeature of steering-gear-and-electric-torque-load-simulator system is conducted.Next, analyzing the causes and characteristics, for the specific problem, thesurplus torque suppression method, two solutions are proposed. One is currentfeedforward compensation based on the linear servo modle and the other is RBFNeural Network Control based on non-linear model.Finally, based on the foregoing analysis, a new ETLS simultaneously with joinloading function is designed and produced. With the new equipment, the aboveanalysis results about the feasibility of joint loading method and coupling effects are verified.
