Nowadays, computers are more and more widely used in every field.Because recognition and description to the world of mankind are different fromthat of computers, it is necessary to establish a way to make computersunderstand the world better and more efficiently. In this dissertation, a methodfor describing typical terrestrial scene is proposed on the background of SARimaging simulation.In this dissertation, terrestrial scene is divided into two parts: naturalbackground and artificial target. Different methods of description correspondingto these two parts are proposed. Also optimization algorithms of descriptionmethods are proposed. First, projection method and2D vector data are used todescribe natural background. Then finite difference grid method combined with3D grid data is used to describe artificial targets.For optimization algorithm of natural background description, a modifiedDP algorithm is proposed, which can eliminate errors on public lines andimprove the speed of DP algorithm at the same time. For optimization algorithmof artificial target description, a lossless compression algorithm based on octreeis proposed, which can compress3D grid-based model efficiently. Andcompression ratio of the proposed algorithm rises while the model becomesbigger.At last, a series of experiment show that the method proposed in thisdissertation can describe typical terrestrial scene with a simplified result.
